Snorkeling Adventure (Puerto Morelos)

You will be snorkeling in the 2nd largest reef in the world!! What is even better is it’s only a 5 min boat ride to location! This is a protected marine park with many colorful beautiful fish, turtles, coral and many other creatures of the sea!!  You will have 2 stops on the reef of about 30 to 45 minutes.

The area of the coral is so close to you that you must be aware of your surroundings! You can come so close to touch it. Please don’t, the coral is a living thing and is damaged with human touch. We ask that you enjoy with your eyes and learn to protect this area by seeing the beauty and the impact we have on this beautiful creation.

Please be sure to tell the guide if you have snorkeled before and if you need any special help. They are happy to take the time to explain how to snorkel

We will meet in front of Light House Tours stand that is right next to the church/pharmacy across from taxi stand. This is the beach side of Puerto Morelos.

We ask that you arrive 15 minute before you booked time. If you are not on time and we leave you will not be given a refund.

Private tours are also available, send us an email to inquire.

  • No SUN BLOCK!!  Wear long sleeves or a rash guard. Rash guard is a thin material shirt that many people use while swimming and snorkeling  The oils from these are not good for the reef or the for the ocean in general. For time in the sun be sure to bring hats and such. If you MUST wear sunblock please bring the organic kind.  All others are not allowed. If you must wear sunblock only REEF SAFE BIODEGRADABLE and please apply it 20 to 30 minutes before snorkeling. To allow it to soak in to you skin instead of washing right off.

This was our first time in Mexico. We are a blended family of 4 including 2 teenage boys. We met Trisha from Adventurous Spirits. She immediately took us under her wing and got us set up with our 1st adventure. We were so happy with her advise from our first excursion that we booked a snorkeling tour also….Needless to say that was AMAZING too!!! We explored the world of underwater creatures at the 2 nd largest reef in the world… We boarded a boat on the pier at Puerto Morelos, all gear and drinks were included. Our guide was super friendly and pointed out many treasures during our trip. We saw so many different fish and underwater life. It was beautiful! Some things that we saw were starfish, permit, hog and trumpet fish, a few barracuda, stingrays and several lobster, the biggest being about 30 pounds! There were many other fish that were so vibrant. After the snorkeling was over we were able to rinse off at an outdoor shower. Be sure to take a picture by the leaning lighthouse and learn how it became that way after a hurricane. We also took the opportunity afterwards to shop at the local stores and open market in the area. We even had the opportunity to experience true Mexican food at a local place called Blue Morelos. The owner was so friendly and the food was very good!! I highly suggest Trisha and Adventurous Spirits, she really steered us in the right direction!!! We had such a great time, I can not wait to return and book more excursions!!!
